The uniforms of the ATC will be explored in detail in this book – they have broadly followed their parent service but have lagged several years behind the RAF in updating.

When the RAF modernised their uniforms in 1936 from the old 1919 Pattern closed collar tunics to the open collar tunic, shirt and tie – in 1938 the newly formed ADCC issued Cadet’s with a uniform very similar to the old RAF style.

This uniform remained standard issue until around 1958 when it was finally replaced by the 1948 New Pattern Battle Dress uniform, which in turn was replaced by the RAF No2 Working Dress in the mid to late 1970s.

Like Blue/Grey Vol 1 – this edition has contains examples of clothing accompanied by many period photographs.
